Our first home only had one eating area. So we used a kitchen table and chairs from the Pottery Barn Outlet. Our 2nd home had an eat in kitchen and a dining room. So I got my mom’s old dining room chairs and paired them with another Pottery Barn table. We had an entire house to fill and I didn’t want to spend money on a dining room suite at the time. 15 years later and house #3, I’m tired of the hand me down dining room. I still didn’t want to spend a fortune so I set out to find some second hand chairs that I could work with. We bought a table off of Craig’s List with the shape I wanted. I ended up painting it. But the perfect chairs eluded me, until I saw these on Etsy.
Yeah, no one else saw my vision either. But I loved the quirky round seats, the details on the legs and the cane back. Just what I was looking for! Only problem was that they were in Maryland and I’m in Tennessee! Kelley at Stylish Patina helped me find a reasonable courier to drive them down and they were mine! A little Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, burlap and a stencil and I have my new chairs.
Here is the side by side comparison…
The stencil on the seat turned out better than I expected. I just used some charcoal craft paint.
I am in love….
So now the table and chairs are done. New drapes are done. Just working on the rug and walls. More to come.
