Can I be honest? Beachbody programs helped me lose 25 lbs back in 2009. I got back to my weight/size in high school and never felt better. I was beaming with confidence and this new routine would become a way of life. Fast forward 5 years and I’ve managed to put back on 15 lbs :( I think part of that came with turning 40 and the fact that it has become harder for me to maintain my weightloss. So something has to give. I need to either further clean up my eating, or increase my exercise. In my current routine, I exercise about 30 min a day, 5-6 days a week. So I know I can add a bit more, either walks in the evening or upping my workouts to an hour on the weekends. The harder part for me is the clean eating. There are temptations lurking around every corner, food at work, church, parties, holidays, etc. That isn’t new however. What is new is my lack of discipline. I can still celebrate life, but I don’t need to partake in every temptation. Do I really need Chick-fil-A EVERY time I take my kids there? No. I need to save splurges for special occasions. One of my favorite recipes from Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset is the Zucchini Cashew Soup. It only has 3 ingredients and is very easy to make!
1 large or 2 small zucchinis
1/4 cup cashews
Soak the cashews in water for 30 minutes. Cut zucchini into large chunks and steam. Put the cashews and zucchini in a blender. Blend! Add liquid aminos for taste and water until desired consistency. Enjoy!
